Cambodian Origins
Twenty-five years, four origins
Four terroirs. Twenty-five years of Cambodian transformation.
Confirel's terroir journey began with Kampong Speu palm sugar in 2001, and by 2005 the company had made its first palm-sugar exports to France. In 2009, Kampot pepper joined the range as Confirel's second flagship product, achieving formal certification. In 2017, Confirel began its cacao cultivation pilot in Ratanakiri, and in 2025 it introduced prahok powder rooted in the fishing culture of Tonle Sap.

Explore the four origins
Kampong Speu Palm Sugar, Kampong Speu Province
Skor Thnot Kampong Speu begins with the sap of Cambodia's emblematic sugar palm. In the dry, sandy landscapes of Kampong Speu and neighboring Ang Snuol, deep, well-drained soils and low rainfall naturally concentrate the sap. Skilled producers collect it by hand during the December-to-May season and cook it rapidly without added substances. Working with local families, Confirel transforms this protected heritage into aromatic granulated sugar, paste and other Thnot specialties with rich, rounded sweetness.
Kampot Pepper, Kampot Province
In southern Cambodia, Kampot Pepper grows where abundant tropical rain meets the naturally draining hills and foothills of Kampot and Kep. Farmers raise the soil, manage shade and harvest each berry according to ripeness, creating green, black, red and white expressions with distinctive citrus, floral, fruity, mint and lime notes. Confirel brings this protected terroir to market through its Kirum range, with careful selection, traceability and respect for the PGI tradition.
Ratanakiri Cacao
In the red soils of Ratanakiri, Confirel is exploring how cacao can grow within a Cambodian landscape of biodiversity, farming knowledge and careful post-harvest craft.
Tonle Sap Prahok
Rooted in the Tonlé Sap ecosystem and generations of Cambodian preservation knowledge, prahok brings depth, character and unmistakable Khmer flavour to the table.
