Confirel Gains International Recognition in Vienna
Confirel earned international recognition in June 2025 during a trip to Vienna, Austria, receiving the Newcomer Award 2025 at Free From Specialty, Europe's premier expo for allergen-free and specialty food products -- recognition of the company's work on quality, sustainability and innovation in Cambodian agriculture.
The Vienna expo gave Confirel a platform to introduce Cambodian agricultural products to European trade buyers, who showed strong interest in the company's certified products and environmentally responsible practices. During the awards ceremony, a Confirel representative presented a copy of founder Dr Hay Ly Eang's memoir to event organisers, marking more than two decades of the company's work.
Confirel representatives also met with partners at UNIDO's headquarters to discuss ongoing collaboration, focusing on the company's agricultural modernisation approach and its potential relevance for other developing economies. UNIDO counterparts noted particular interest in Confirel's methodical approach to long-standing challenges in agriculture -- certification costs, access to financing, environmental resilience, market data and technology adoption.
"Development organisations and commercial partners are increasingly studying our methodologies rather than simply offering support," a Confirel representative said, "indicating recognition of our expertise and proven results."
